Parking at FLL Airport

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport has several parking options and more than 12,000 spaces in three multi-level facilities called Cypress, Hibiscus and Palm.

 There are options for passenger pick-up and drop-off and valet parking, as well as short- and long-term parking, overflow parking and designated handicapped spaces. Wheelchair access is available at all terminals. 

If you require wheelchair assistance, you will need to contact your airline in advance to arrange the appropriate services.

To ensure a seamless experience, the airport also offers a tram service that connects the parking lots to the terminals. However, each parking option has its advantages and disadvantages depending on travelers' experience. Below, we present a detailed breakdown of each parking area with the positive and negative points most mentioned by users:

Passenger drop-off and pick-up

Pick-up

Cell Phone Waiting Area - Free area located seconds from the arrivals area of the terminals, designed for people waiting to pick up their passengers.

Accessible from I-595, US-1 and Griffin Road, it allows visitors to use the free 20-minute parking grace period to wait for your passengers' call to tell you they are ready to be picked up directly in the arrivals area.

The curbside on the arrivals level (lower baggage claim level) is designated exclusively for active passenger loading. No curbside parking is permitted. You may only approach the curb when the group is ready and waiting.

Drop-off

Drive to the curb on the departures level (upper level) in front of the terminals when actively dropping off passengers. Do not leave your vehicle unattended at the curb.

If you wish to escort departing passengers inside the terminal, it is advisable to use a parking lot. The initial 20 minutes are free and then the standard rate will apply.

Valet Parking

At FLL, you can access curbside valet parking services at two passenger pick-up and drop-off locations. They are located at the west end of Terminals 1 and 4, on the departures (upper) level. Park here, take your valet ticket and proceed to your airline's terminal. Upon your return, you can retrieve your vehicle at the curbside on the departures level, where you initially left it.

Short-term Parking

Available on level 2 of the Hibiscus Garage and level 1 of the Palm Garage.

Long-term Parking

Located on the following levels of the parking garages:
- Hibiscus: levels 3 to 7
- Palm: levels 2 to 4
- Cypress: levels 6 to 9

Transportation between parking garages

Trams between garages

Travelers have the option of using a free tram service that connects the lower level of the Palm and Hibiscus garages to all terminals. Trams run every 14 minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

• Provides quick and convenient transportation between parking garages and terminals.
• Reduces walking distance, especially for travelers with heavy luggage.

❌ Negative Points:

• Inconsistent schedule leading to waiting times.
• Limited capacity during peak hours.

Overflow Parking

The Overflow Parking Lot is only available during peak travel times, when the on-site garages are full. It is located in the western part of the airport and is served by a complementary shuttle bus service to and from the terminals. Stops are located along the airport's upper-level roadway, between Terminals 1 and 2 and Terminals 3 and 4.

Parking for travelers with disabilities

Designated parking spaces for passengers with disabilities are available in all airport parking lots. These spaces include a special access feature, which allows people with upper body mobility limitations to enter without having to retrieve a ticket. Information is recorded through a camera and speaker recognition system.

In addition, shuttle buses to the terminals are equipped to accommodate wheelchairs.

Payment Methods

Cashier booths

Use this payment method if you require personal attention, either because you lost your ticket or if your vehicle qualifies for complimentary handicapped parking.

Quick Pay Lanes

Use these lanes if you plan to pay by credit card.

SunPas​s Plus

A convenient option for paying parking fees at airport garages, use your SunPass Transponder to enjoy faster payment.

Simply select the SunPass Plus lane when entering the parking garage and, when exiting, choose the SunPass Plus lane at the toll booth plaza. Parking fees will automatically be charged to your account.

There are no additional fees associated with using SunPass Plus for airport parking.
